wineTen years of art of wine Sarajevo – jubilee, tenth consecutive Wine Weekend Festival “Art of Wine 2014“ was officially opened on 24th October at the Viennese Café in Sarajevo hotel “Europe“.

”I find it is very important to give wine producers space to present results of their work, inform wine lovers about the fact that there are great wines in BiH they should not miss,” said Amir Beširević, owner of company Fina Vina d.o.o. which organized the event.

He said the aim is to encourage presentation of original BiH wines.

”We have extraordinary wines which can be compared to the European products which have much longer tradition,” said Beširević.

Thanks to the enthusiasm of organizers and partners of the project, the Festival was first held in 2004, when this concept was unknown in the region.

In time, “Art of Wine“ became the most important event of the sort, extremely important to presenters.

Presenter at the Festival and one of the most famous BiH wine producers Josip Brkić emphasized that Wine Weekend Festival is the only event of this sort in BiH which he has been taking part in since the very beginning.

”Wine Weekend Festival is also very important because participants are the most important producers in the region, so they can learn about new technological trends and share their experiences with the other wine producers,” said Brkić.

Brkić Winery exports its wines to several countries, including the USA.

Hamid Kujraković, expert associate of Herzegovina Produkt told FENA the aim of these events is to present new wines in BH market, firstly to promote domestic wine brands and to spend time with wine lovers.

Festival “Art of Wine 2014” will last for two days, October 24-25, and it gathers around 30 presenters from BiH and countries of the region.

Visitors had also an opportunity to attend workshops on both days of the Festival, where they were able to learn about new technologies in production and culture of wine and wine tradition.
