Besides the traditional Sarajevo Holiday Market on the Square of Alija Izetbegovic, the citizens of Sarajevo, as well as all of those who visit the capital city during the winter, will enjoy another winter magic that will be called “the Ice spell”.
The Municipality of Novo Sarajevo allocated 82,000 BAM to set up a winter city that will offer a variety of facilities for all ages on the Wilson’s Promenade in the period from the 25th of December to the 25th of January. Visitors, among other things, will be able to enjoy the ice rink with all equipment, decorated wooden houses, covered stands and a large Christmas tree, while the space in the immediate environment will be decorated in order to evoke a holiday atmosphere in the full glory.
“Process of selecting the bidder after a public invitation for the winter setting of the city is currently taking place. The bidder who is selected, among other things, will have the obligation to submit the visual identity of a winter city, organizing an event on the occasion of its opening, and come up with creative and entertaining content for all of its visitors,” as announced from the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
It is expected that winter city will attract large numbers of visitors, beautify the tourist offer of the city and revive Wilson’s Promenade during the winter season.
