The Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar 2012 has announced the total income of 46.411,78 BAM collected during the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar in Sarajevo.
The ceremony of giving and accepting checks was held today at CIFS in the pressence of the Ambassador of Norway Vibek Lilloe , Emina Yildiz (wife of the Turkish Ambassador), Irina Gadis (wife of the Ambassador of Greece), Danuta Moon (wife of the US Ambassador and a member of the Organizing Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar), Nela Hasić (organizer of the Race for the Cure and the member of the Organizing Committee), Sophie Bérard (member of the Slovenian Embassy and the member of the Organizing Committee), Mateja Sotosek ( member of the Slovenian Embassy), Brigitte Schaller-Schoepf (wife of the Swiss Ambassador and the President of the Committee of the Diplomatic Winter Bazaar), Jean-François Le Roch (the director of CIFS), and Bojana Drinić (Administrative director of CIFS).
All collected resources during the Dilpomatic Winter Bazaar, which was held in Sarajevo in December, went to the Helping Hearts and Hands Foundation (HHH), NGO EDUS- Education for all, and the Association for children with special needs from Doboj.
The Diplomatic Winter Bazaar supported the work of three more associations from Goražde. Those are the Association for children with cerebral palsy and dystrophy, the Department for children with special needs of the Primary school ”Fahrudin Fahro Baščelija” and the Association to help people with mental retardation in Bosnian Podrinje Canton Goražde. Mateja Sotosek accepted the check on behalf of these associations.
This bazaar has achieved a great success with more than 1,500 visitors who had the opportunity to buy various sorts of products and handi crafts. These collected resources will certainly make a difference in the work of all chosen associations. Thanks to the generosity of the Ambassador of Kuwait, the signed jersey of the football player Eric Abidal was sold at an auction for an incredible 3, 000 BAM.
The Organizing Committee expressed its gratitude to all Embassies for their continual support and dedication. Their participation has contributed to the success of this Bazaar as well as the donations of the Slovenian companies and the Embassy of Norway.
