The “Pomozi.ba” Association said that a woman from Sarajevo, who wished to remain anonymous, paid 15,350 euros for surgery and physical therapy for little Faruk Geljic from Sarajevo, for whom the Association initiated a fundraising appeal.

According to the Association, in agreement with the family, the money raised so far by the appeal for Farouk’s operation in Turkey will be redirected to program funds for the treatment of other sick citizens.

“Our Faruk will travel to Turkey at the end of the month, and the Pomozi.ba Association will bear the costs of transportation and stay in Turkey, as well as the costs of his further treatment, because after six months he will need an internal implant,” they say from Pomozi.ba.

Little Faruk spent most of his life in hospitals, because after birth he was found to have dislocation of both hips and a curved foot.

“He also suffers from hydrocephalus, and as soon as he was born, two surgeries were performed and a shunt was implanted. We hope that after the upcoming surgery in Turkey, this brave boy will finally be able to walk,” they said from Pomozi.ba.

They added that this humane gesture of our fellow citizen is a proof in a series that good people exist.
