Women are still paid less than their male colleagues, and according to data available on the Plata.ba platform (for the past year), men earned 16.4 percent more than women.

When talking about occupations, the most pronounced differences are in the following sectors: banking, economics and finance, management and administration, and trade.

In the banking sector, women earned BAM 880.53 and men earned BAM 1046.54 in the position of cashier last year.

In the sector of senior management and management in the position of executive director, women earned 2223.00 BAM, while men earned 2934.24 BAM.

In the trade sector in the position of sales consultant, women earned BAM 965.11 last year and men earned BAM 1232.50.

In the economy and finance sector, women earned 1180.94 BAM and men earned 1368.41 BAM in the position of ‘economist’.

When asked about discrimination against women in the labor market in BiH, from the platform Plata.ba they say that they do not have official data on this, however, guided by experience and information from job seekers, they can say that in general women are still discriminated against in certain industries.

As they add, this particularly affects women who try to find a job that would allow them to balance their work and private life, Fena reports.
