Women’s National Team scored Best Result in One Qualification Cycle

Upon yesterday’s away victory over Georgia of 3:0, the women’s “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina finished the qualifications for EURO 2022 in third place in Group B with 18 points.

It is also the best score that our best women’s national team achieved in one qualification cycle.

In the absence of Milena Nikolić, as a captain in the last matches, the team was led by Melisa Hasanbegović.

“First of all, I want to congratulate all the players and the technical staff on this historic success, we really deserved this with our game and approach, both on and off the pitch. We have all worked diligently and honestly on this”, says Hasanbegović and continues:

“As for this last match, nothing else came to our mind except the victory. We announced that and we showed it on the pitch. This is one step forward for women’s football in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We must not stop at this and let it be our limit. I think that these qualifications and this result should be a wind in our backs towards some more serious success, and that is going to the European or World Championships. We have a very young and talented team. I believe that one day we will be able to qualify for a big competition.”
