In a very strong competition, project of the building of Hydro power station on Drina in Visegrad won the third place in the category of public and commercial buildings on international CEMEX Building Award competition held in Mexico.
On this prestigious competition, which included 714 buildings built in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brasil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Panama, Poland, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Czech Republic, Thailand and United Kingdom, the world’s best architectural and building achievements are presented.
Jury, consisted of 17 experts from six countries, recognized the building of Hydro power station on Drina as one of the best when it comes to new conceptual, technical and aesthetic solutions.
Brane Mitrovic, architect of this building, said that this building is a reflection of the environment in which it is located.
“We tried by using the local materials, stone and wood, to make closer to other people the nature and quality of these materials. These are small communities and they have their own seals, and if we have introduced them to the world on this way, then it is success for us. It is a great honor for me to won the award in such a numerous and strong competition and although third, it is the favorite one in my career.“ added Mitrovic
