mostar_blues_rockMostar Blues & Rock Festival this year will be held from 16 to 19 July and will host a number of famous musicians, announced for Fena the organizers of this festival.

This year’s festival, the 12th consecutive festival of Blues and Rock will start on 16 July with the program Blues Corners containing video projections, music nights and concerts in Mostar pubs, just like in previous years.

A day later, on 17 July, the American singer and songwriter from Texas Keegan McInroe with the acoustic guitar will perform at the Pavarotti Music Center, a number of blues performances and some of the most famous delta -blues standards.

On the same evening, Herzegovinian band Vjeka & Electric Blues Project, a group of experienced instrument players led by the famous Mostar singer Vjekoslav Raspudić will perform some of the most important blues and rock classics.

Afterwards, the legendary Coco Montoya, the American guitarist will perform. Coco Montoya played with Albert Collins in the beginning of his career and gained fame in the blues institution called John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. He is a left handed guitarist, who uses the upside-down position of the wire, a style used by Otis Rush and Albert Collins.

On Friday, 18 July, the festival production will move to the premises of the sports center “Kantarevac” and the Texas Flood from Belgrade will open this festival evening. This band has been performing blues and rock for many years. Vlatko Stefanovski Trio will have a concert after the Belgrade band.

It will be a real introduction to the concert of Eric Sardinas, the American guitarist, who plays the slide style and is known to set the guitar on fire during concerts. This controversial artist started to play guitar when he was six years old, as left handed, but later became famous as a right handed guitarist that leaves no one indifferent and also has performed at the tournaments of Steve Vai.

The Banja Luka band Switch will open the final evening of Mostar Blues and Rock festival, on Saturday, 19 July. This group knows well the techniques of blues and rock and is the first band that comes from Banja Luka to this festival and will present Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jim Hendrix.
