Within the framework of the BRIDGE – Building Relations for Intercultural Dialogue in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) project, on the occasion of the 12 Days of Peace, 100 young nature lovers from all over BiH visited the Via Dinarica hiking and cycling trail on Visocica mountain yesterday.

As part of the BRIDGE project, with the financial support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), which implements and co-finances the United Nations Development Program in BiH (UNDP BiH) and in partnership with the Terra Dinarica Association, the Treskavica Mountaineering Society and the Green Visions Agency, a walking, and cycling tour was organized to the peaks of Visocica Mountain – Drstva and Vito, which are located on the Via Dinarica White Trail, a mega hiking and walking trail.

The goal of the BRIDGE project is to encourage intercultural dialogue and interaction among young people from different ethnic and religious groups and geographical locations gathered around nature, science, tourism, and environmental protection, which contribute to bridging social and cultural divisions and restoring trust among young people. Therefore, the project supports the learning and adventure of young people from all over BiH, in order to jointly experience the natural, cultural and recreational opportunities offered by the Via Dinarica trails.

”Via Dinarica’s motto is “Connecting Naturally” – that’s how today we, mountaineers from all over our country, are connected by the beautiful nature of Via Dinarica,” Naida Sahbaz from Sarajevo, one of the participants of the hiking tour, said yesterday.

The hosts of this event were the Terra Dinarica Association, the Green Visions Agency, and the Treskavica Mountaineering Society, which hosted the participants in their Mountain Lodge “Vrela” Tusila, where all participants could refresh themselves with local food and drinks prepared in the lodge where the Via Dinarica center is also located. Also, in the center itself, the participants had the opportunity to find out everything about current and future activities on Via Dinarica and in the center, UNDP in BiH announced.
