The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said on Wednesday in Dubrovnik that the region of Southeast Europe significantly supports the official Kyiv and stands for real peace and real diplomacy.

Zelenskyy said that this is his first visit to Croatia, for which he expressed his gratitude, adding that Ukraine and Croatia have built successful strategic relations that strengthen the region.

“Thank you for taking me to Dubrovnik, we would like to convey the respect you showed to our veterans and fighters, it creates emotional bonds between our countries. I will mention the 11 security packages that came from Croatia, which will help build our country,” Zelenskyy said at the press conference after the Southeast Europe – Ukraine Summit in Dubrovnik.

Ukraine was supposed to present its “victory plan” on October 12th at a regular meeting of its allies in Ramstein, Germany, but the meeting was postponed due to bad weather in the United States (U.S.).

“The Ramstein meeting that was supposed to take place this week was postponed due to a natural disaster in the U.S.. And in such a situation, he (U.S. President Joe Biden) as a leader decided to stay in his country. Without him, that format does not have such weight,” said Zelenskyy.

He said that summit held on Wednesday confirmed that “the region significantly supports Ukraine and stands for real peace, real diplomacy, and not just for freezing the results of this war.”

“It is also important for future generations, and we must certainly do everything possible to strengthen the position of Ukraine, our people, and achieve a just peace,” said Zelenskyy.

He said that the continuation of the war could allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to use various resources and that such a scenario could have serious consequences for the Russian economy.

During a press conference with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, the Ukrainian president expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), stating that “the number is too high”.
