Footballers from Željezničar defeated the Sarajevo team 2:0 in the eternal derby on Wednesday evening at the “Grbavica” stadium, and scored three valuable points in the battle for the top of the table.
In the first part of the match, Sarajevo was a more concrete opponent and created several chances, but failed to use the initiative on the field.
The guests had their first serious situation in the 24th minute. After a long ball, Barišić headed the ball towards Šarić, who came out alone in front of Željezničar Abdulahović’s goalkeeper, but the local goalkeeper prevented the goal with a timely intervention.
Just a few minutes later, Abdulahović again saved a good shot by Kuprešak, and then a shot by Meita, which was not accurate enough.
Sarajevo had the best chance in the first half in the 37th minute. Elezi remained undisturbed about seven meters from the goal, but his shot did not end up in the net.
At the end of the first part, the guests had another great opportunity. Ivanišević attempted a header after the cross, the ball hit the post and returned to the field, after which Pidro shot, but Abdulahović intervened again and saved his goal.
