zlatan_ibrahimovicZlatan Ibrahimović is one of the 10 candidates for UEFA’s award for best European football player. Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal did not make the final list.

Both players for Juventus were on the broader list of 26 names, as the only Italian representatives, but they did not enter the selection of the 10 players, according to ‘Football-Italia’.

The award will be handed out on 29 August in Monaco, and the decision on the best player will be decided upon by a jury composed of journalists from all members of UEFA.

This is the third handing out of an award that was founded by President of UEFA Michel Platini.

European champions Bayern dominate the list with four players, but there is not one player from Chelsea, the winners of the European League.

Finalist of the Champions League Borussia Dortmund has only one player on the list, Robert Lewandowski.
