course2Technical course for coaches in sledding for the Balkan region was held in Sarajevo, from 12th to 15th of September.

The course was organized by the Sledding Federation of BiH under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Committee of BiH (OC BiH).

Participants from eight countries attended the course and the total number of participants was26. Participants came from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Czech, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria and BiH.

Course lecturers are high ranking members of the FIL (The Federation of International Lacrosse), Maria Luisa Reiner who is sports director of FIL and Karl Brunner, one of the best coaches in sledding.

On the technical courses were discussed all the relevant topics related to work on the sled and rules in sledding through theoretical and practical vision.

After successfully completed course, participants received the Certificate of trainers that will help them in their future work.

“Course, besides the educational part, is also very important for the promotion of our country and sledding in the world, and especially in the region. After a tour of the track, presenters and participants enthusiastically supported the start of reconstruction of the track on Trebevic and training held there. The idea of the eventual reconstruction of the track is getting more and more supporters, primarily because of the very good features of the path, as well as the beauty of our city.

We owe our gratitude to the IOC and the OC BiH which recognized the importance of the project for which the Sledding Federation of BiH advocated for years,” said Senad Omanovic.
