Zmijanje Embroidery at the Museum of the City of Zenica

zmijanjski_vezThe exhibition of the Ethnological department of the Museum of the RS “Zmijanje embroidery – world cultural heritage” by Danijela Djukanovic, the museum counselor, and ethnologist, will take place at the Museum of the City of Zenica, from May 23 to June 19, this year.

Presentation of this exhibition in the cities of BiH is an opportunity for local residents to get acquainted with the first element of the cultural heritage of BiH that is inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2014.

The exhibition consists of 50 three-dimensional exhibits at which is presented Zmijanje embroidery and more than 20 exhibits of two-dimensional pieces of the museum’s photo documentation.

In the exhibition are presented holders of Zmijanje embroidery in the 21st century and their works.

The design of the exhibition was done by senior museum technician documentary Ljiljana Korac. Conservation of objects for the exhibition was done by Dragana Radoja, senior conservator for textiles, as announced from the Museum of the RS.
