The chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Zvizdic, today spoke in Sarajevo with Qatar Airways executive director Akbar Al Baker.

Qatar Airways made the first direct flight yesterday between Sarajevo and Doha, connecting the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina with over 150 world business and tourist destinations via one stop in Doha.

Zvizdic thanked Qatar for continuing support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Qatar Airways, which through the realization of this exceptional project enabled the further strengthening of business relations between the two countries and the development of tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He explained the current situation in our country, as well as the priorities of the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the economic potentials of BiH, to Al Baker.

The executive director of Qatar Airways expressed satisfaction that Sarajevo entered the world network of the destination of this company. He said that the goal of the company was to bring as many tourists as possible to BiH and expressed interest in introducing daily flights to Sarajevo. He emphasized that BiH must continue investing in infrastructure in order to increase the communication capacities in favor of tourists.

Zvizdic pointed out that the establishment of a direct flight is only the first step in further developing and strengthening the relations of two friendly countries. He emphasized that BiH’s interest is to strengthen business relations, attract investment and create new jobs, in order to keep young people from building their future in another country.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador of BiH to Qatar Tarik Sadovic and Ambassador of the State of Qatar to BiH Rashid Al-Kawari.
