Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić met today in Ankara with the President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Ismail Kahraman. They discussed the bilateral relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey.
It was pointed out during the meeting that the relations between the two countries are good and friendly, which results in frequent formal meetings and signed bilateral agreements, but that there is still plenty of space for the improvement of economic cooperation.
Chairman Zvizdić said that BiH wants to strengthen and improve cooperation with Turkey in all areas. Expressing gratitude for everything that the Republic of Turkey did for BiH, Chairman Zvizdić restated the support of BiH in the fight against terrorism. Zvizdić highlighted that it is necessary to strengthen economic relations and added that Bosnia and Herzegovina will present concrete projects to potential Turkish investors at a business forum which was to be held later that day.
President Kahraman said that the parliamentarian delegations of BiH and Turkey have good cooperation and that economic relations are better and better every year. He thanked Bosnia and Herzegovina for the support given for the application by Istanbul for the city which is to host the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the cooperation process in the Southeastern Europe.
Chairman Zvizdić praised the engagement of Turkey in the strengthening of regional cooperation in the Balkans. Furthermore, he informed the President Kahraman about positive steps that BiH made on the path towards the EU and expressed expectations that NATO integration will be accelerated as well.
