10.948 Tourists in February 2013

10.948 tourists visited Canton Sarajevo in February 2013, which is 11.5 percent more in comparison to February of last year.

Tourists accounted for a total of 21.462 overnight stays, which is 5.9 percent more in comparison to the same period in 2012.

Of the total tourists in Sarajevo Canton, 69 percent were foreign tourists.

The most number of foreign tourists came from Croatia (27.7 percent), Serbia (11.3 percent), Slovenia (8.2 percent), Turkey (7.5 percent), and Germany (3.9 percent).

Of the total number of overnight stays, 76.5 percent were foreign tourists, while 23.5 percent were tourists from BiH. Of the total overnight stays by foreign tourists, most came from Croatia (22.1 percent), Serbia (9.5 percent), Turkey (7.7 percent), Slovenia (7.1 percent) and Kuwait (6.3 percent).

The average length of stay in February 2013 was 1.9 nights. The longest stay of tourists came from Mexico (8.8 percent), Kuwait (5.9 percent), Iceland (5.3 percent), Egypt (4.9 percent), USA (4.1 percent), Spain (3.2 percent), Denmark (3.1 percent) and Poland (3 nights).

A total of 77 countries visited Sarajevo Canton in February 2013. Accommodation rates were 22.7 percent in terms of room occupancy, or 10.6 percent in terms of bed occupancy’’, announced the Canton Sarajevo Tourist Association.
