In the framework of marking the Day of the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, yesterday was held the first ever Sarajevo roller skating race, at which participated a large number of citizens.
The youngest citizens, those a little bit older, and mothers with strollers “armed” with rollers and guards ran from the Eternal Fire to the Square of Children of Sarajevo, where medals and awards were awarded to the ones who came first.
Organizer of this roller skate race is the Association of citizens “Club of Sports Fit & Fun ”, with the support of the Municipality Centar.
The main streets in the city center were closed for traffic for almost three hours, but there was so much laughter and excitement of support for the youngest participants, as well as those who were racing as a family.
The objectives of this project, besides social effects, are socializing through competitions in roller skating disciplines, learning about rules and safety aspects of roller skating related to traffic-safety measures, as well as support for roller skating sports that are a huge trend in the world and becoming increasingly popular in our country, and motivating citizens to increasingly engage with sports and recreation as a healthy lifestyle.
Those who finished the race first received cash prizes and numerous gifts provided by sponsors. This is the first time for this kind of event to be held in the capital of BiH, and happy faces of more than 1,000 participants showed that they are very happy and satisfied. Family races with two, three, and four or more members, the race for boys and race for girls, and men and women were organized as part of the event as well.
