Official: Chinese to build Thermal Power Plant Gacko 2

TE GackoOn behalf of Republika Srpska, Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Petar Djokic signed an agreement on cooperation in the project of construction of TPP Gacko 2 with Chinese companies China Africa Investment and Development Co. and China Machinery Engineering Corporation.

In addition to this agreement, the minister signed a framework contract with China Africa Investment and Development Co. regarding the long-term business cooperation in the realization of strategic investment projects and both agreements were signed on 3rd April.

Minister Djokic said that the planned construction of TPP is worth approximately one billion BAM, with minimum installed capacity of 300 megawatts.

“Coordination Body, whose formation is provided in this Agreement, will continue to analyze all parameters which are necessary in order to make investment decisions, or to mark previously estimated coal reserves in this area,” – said Djokic.

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpka Zeljka Cvijanovic, General Manager of Elektroprivreda RS Zeljko Kovacevic, CEO of Gacko Srdjan Milovic and representatives of Chinese companies were signatories of the agreement.
