Mayor of Sarajevo met with the President of ICTY

mayor sarajevo skaka ICTY presidentMayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka met with Carmelo Agius, the president of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), who is currently in Sarajevo for the conference entitled “ICTY Legacies Dialogues” which will be held from June 22nd to June 24th.

During the meeting  Mayor Skaka introduced President Agius with the activities that are being conducted by the City of Sarajevo in order to establish the Sarajevo Information Center.

After the signing the Memorandum in November last year, this center and the City of Sarajevo aim to give a concrete contribution to building peace and reconciliation. Moreover, this center should provide an updated, direct and secure electronic access to publicly available ICTY records and databases.

In addition to the previously stated, the center will have a museum, research department, and archival and publishing function.
