In the action of cutting and donating hair with the symbolic name ‘My hair, your hair’ organized by the Association “Heart for Children with Cancer” in Sarajevo, 145 donors donated their hair in two hours. Children and their parents came from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

This was confirmed by Fikret Kubat, director of the “Heart for Children with Cancer” Association, who is particularly proud of the girls and boys who come with their parents to Sarajevo City Center (SCC) to donate hair for children with cancer.

“Since the beginning of the project, there have been close to 20,000 hair donors. So far, close to 85 have been made for children with temporary or permanent hair loss. The project justified all expectations, and the most important expectation of those children and girls who are facing the most serious diseases. Their parents, but all of us as Bosnians and Herzegovinans, can be happy,” Kubat said in a statement to the media.

He thanked the Ambassador of the Association, Amra Dzeko, for the support, the Municipality of Centar, the donor – the Diplomatic Bazaar in BiH, which financially supports the humane story.

Also, Amra Dzeko donated her hair for children suffering from cancer. She says that the project “My hair, your hair” grows every year, and an increasing number of good people and children become part of that beautiful, humane mission.

”I’m happy to be a piece of the mosaic that does good things for children who have experienced hair loss. I thank our children and their parents, who raise them so wonderfully”, said Dzeko.

The head of the Municipality of Centar, Srdjan Mandic, expressed his satisfaction that he is part of the story and is privileged, he says, that the Municipality is a partner of the organization.

Although the Municipality has been cooperating with the “Heart for Children with Cancer” Association for years, he said, they take special care of young people, especially children with cancer.

The project “My hair, your hair” aims to improve the emotional and psychological health of hemato-oncology patients, and the reintegration of vulnerable groups into the family, school and wider community by providing medical wigs.

Wigs from the association’s workshop are available, completely free of charge, to any child who has temporary or permanent hair loss in order to restore self-confidence and successfully fit into their home environment, Fena writes.
