UN expects BiH’s Population to decrease to 2.46 million People

The population of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be drastically reduced in the coming period, and by 2100 it may fall to less than a million, BiznisInfo writes on the basis of new data from the United Nations.

According to UN estimates, BiH currently has around 3.3 million people.

According to a mid-term estimate, by the year 2050, our country will have 2.68 million people.

By the end of the year, up to 2100, the population of BiH, according to the average estimate, will be 1.64 million people.

However, according to the pessimistic, lower variant published by the UN these days, BiH could reach 2.46 million people by 2050, and by the end of the century to only 982,000.

According to the most optimistic, upper variant, BiH will have 2.9 million by 2050 and by the end of the century 2.54 million. Overall, the number of our planet’s population should reach 9.7 billion people by 2050 compared to today’s 7.7 billion.

In its predictions, the UN expects that in the 21st century there will be less than 11 billion people living on Earth.

The report entitled “Perspectives of the World’s Population” confirms the continued aging of the world’s population due to the expected life expectancy and the decline in fertility.
