The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turkovic, received on Monday a humanitarian aid for the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which was sent from China.

Minister Turkovic said that this was aid with 42,000 masks, donated by the Children’s Choir of the Chinese city of Wuxi, whose members came to visit BiH before the pandemic, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.

“They liked BiH very much and when the pandemic broke out, they wanted to send help to the children in Sarajevo, to a school near the Chinese Embassy in Sarajevo,” said Turkovic.

She pointed out that it was a symbolic help, which the children collected from their pocket money.

“Neither the state nor the humanitarian organization is behind the donation, but the big hearts of the children,”said Turkovic.

She added that the children from the choir wrote a letter to the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Sefik Dzaferovic, which was handed over by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to BiH, Yi Ping, to Minister Turkovic.

She also pointed out that this was not the first aid that arrived from China, and added that the first masks in BiH arrived from China.
