58 New Cases of Coronavirus Infection in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Twenty five new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the entity of Republika Srpska, after testing 299 laboratory samples, the RS Institute of Public Health said on Thursday.

According to the place of residence, seven people are from Banja Luka, four from Doboj, three each from Kostajnica and Modrica, two each from Ostra Luka and Teslic and one each from Prijedor, Gradiska, Zvornik and Derventa.

The largest number of new cases are contacts of positive persons at the sites of local virus transmission and family contacts.

So far, 1.749 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in RS, and a total of 119 people have died from the consequences of the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, 778 samples were tested in the Federation of BiH, of which 33 were positive for COVID-19.

New cases have been registered in Tuzla, Zenica-Doboj, Herzegovina-Neretva, Central Bosnia and Sarajevo cantons.

In the Federation of BiH, 46.235 samples have been tested so far, and COVID-19 has been confirmed in 1.430 people, of whom 780 are women (54.55 percent) and men 650 (45.45 percent), the Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH stated.
