Former Bosnia international footballer Avdija Vrsajevic announced on social media on Saturday that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

“I am currently in isolation as I have tested positive for COVID-19. Everything is under control, I’m feeling good, I haven’t had any serious symptoms and I hope to recover quickly,” said the defender, who plays for Turkish side Akhisarspor, Sportske.ba writes.

“Dear media, friends, sympathizers… I want to write here the correct information with the aim of stopping misinformation about the current situation regarding Covid-19. The situation is such that I am currently in isolation, due to a positive test for Covid-19. Everything is under control, I feel good, without any more intense symptoms, and I hope for a quick recovery, so that I can be with my family and my team. I want to express my full support for my team, and to say that I am sorry that I am not with them, but I have no doubt that they will achieve the desired success through the upcoming matches,” Vrsajevic wrote.
