Reconstruction of the roof of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka has started these days, within the first phase of the reconstruction, and according to the director Sarita Vujkovic, this is a monument that is under the protection and that, in addition to regular permits, the permits of the Institute for the Protection of Monuments were also necessary.

In addition to the roof, the rooms that will be used for the library and reading room will also be reconstructed.

“In November this year, we planned to start work on the front of the building where the entrance hall and doors will be repaired. An elevator will be installed that will connect the two floors of the museum, that is, we will put the attic of the building into operation,” Vujkovic said and added that the complete reconstruction of the museum will be done in three or four phases.

The renovation of this cultural institution is funded by the Office of the President of Republika Srpska and the United States Embassy in BiH.
