The news that Prince Albert II of Monaco is coming to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina delighted all Sarajevans, but also the citizens of BiH. He will, as announced, attend the opening ceremony of the Olympic Museum.

Although it was originally announced that he would come on October 9, the Prince of Monaco arrives a little earlier – on October 7, was confirmed by the mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, Fena news agency reports.

”We are honored that Prince Albert II accepted the invitation to be part of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Museum. It is a great privilege for the city of Sarajevo and for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a man who has a deep-seated love for sports and is a member of the International Olympic Committee,” said Skaka.

Albert II’s mother is former Hollywood actress Grace Kelly, and Albert II is considered one of the most powerful but also the richest royal members in the world, with assets estimated at more than a billion US dollars.

The opening of the Olympic Museum is planned for October 8. A clear program has been planned, which we have been establishing for more than two months with the cabinet of Prince Albert. He will be awarded the highest recognition of the City, and that is the “Key of Sarajevo”.  There will be a decision at the City Council to award Prince Albert II the highest recognition of Sarajevo. The ceremony is planned for October 9 in the Sarajevo City Hall, where the Chairman of the City Council Igor Gavric and I, together with the deputies and all members of the City Council, will present him with such a representative gift. It is a continuation of a serious diplomatic action carried out by the City of Sarajevo, and everything in order for Sarajevo, as the capital of BiH, to be in the focus of the European and world public,” said Skaka.
