The Srebrenica Memorial Center announced that Zejna Husic passed away at the age of 86, a mother whose two sons were killed in the 1995 genocide in Srebrenica.

One of Zejna’s sons was found and buried at the Memorial Center, while the remains of the other are still being searched for.

Zejna’s life was marked by dignity, strength, and an unwavering commitment to the truth. She shared her story through the “Oral Histories” project, donating a photograph of her son, Mevludin, and leaving a lasting testimony of loss, love, and resilience.

The Memorial Center expressed deep respect for her life and courage.

“May she have eternal peace. Her name and story remain permanently inscribed in our collective memory,” the Srebrenica Memorial Center announced.
