The Court of BiH: Verdicts for Genocide in Srebrenica to be pronounced Next Week

constituional-court-bihAfter more than four years of the trial, the Court of BiH will pronounce verdicts to Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are indicted for committing genocide in Srebrenica.

Stanisic and Milosevic are indicted for the murder of about 800 citizens of Srebrenica in mid-July 1995 at the dam in the village Petkovci near Zvornik. According to the indictment, Stanisic was the commander of the Sixth Battalion of the Zvornik Brigade of the Army of the RS (VRS), while Milosevic was his deputy. Pronouncement of the verdict is scheduled for Friday.

Hearing of the first witnesses of defense of Goran Pejic, who is indicted for crimes committed in Prijedor, will start on Tuesday. He, together with Milorad Radakovic, will be trialed for the murder of five civilians in the village Tukovi.

On Thursday, before the Appellate Chamber of the Court will be presented the appeal to the first instance verdict with which Nenad Przulj will be acquitted from committing crimes against humanity in the territory of Sokolac in 1992 and 1993.

On Thursday, the defense of Goran Mrdja will present their closing arguments at the trial for crimes committed in Sanski Most. Besides Goran Mrdja, for this crime were accused Milorad and Ranko Mrdja as well as Mile Kokot.

Defense of Sasa Gavranovic will hear their first witness on Thursday. Together with Dragan Marjanovic, Vitomir Devic, Zoran Sljuka and Dragomir Kezunovic, he is charged with the murder of 28 civilians on Mount Borje near Teslic.

Next week will be continued trials for crimes committed in other BH cities as well, as reported by Birn.
