The “Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo” award, according to the decision of the City Council of Sarajevo, will be Jure Franko.

At the session of the City Council today, it was explained that Jure Franko won a silver medal in the giant slalom at the XIV Winter Olympic Games in 184 in Sarajevo.

It was the first medal won by someone from the Yugoslav Ski National Team. That’s when the motto “I love Jurek more than burek” was created.

In 2006, Jure Franko, on his own initiative, in cooperation with the Ski Association, took 15 children from the “Kinder Village” to the Winter Olympic Games in the city of Sestriere, Italy, at his own expense.

At the session of the City Council today, it was said that the recognition is awarded in the form of the Charter of the City of Sarajevo, and will be presented at the Formal Session of the City Council of the City of Sarajevo.
