Sarajevo Mayor disappointed with Stanivukovic’s position on Inzko’s Law

Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic welcomed the decision of High Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Inzko.

Karic believes that these important changes to the BiH Criminal Code will contribute to a prosperous and European future.

“The decision of the High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko is historic because it will enable young people and future generations to live in a country where genocide will never happen again to anyone. The decision should not be politicized in public and I call on politicians to refrain from reactions because it is our shame that the state institutions did not make it in the years behind us,” Karic wrote on her Facebook profile.

In her guest appearance for Channel O, the mayor could not hide her disappointment with Drasko Stanivukovic’s position on Inzko’s law

“Because I went to Banja Luka honest, with an open heart and with the desire to build bridges of friendship and the future. I expected that my departure to Banja Luka would really mean the beginning of the changes that young mayors and young generations need to bring. I am very surprised and shaken by today’s reactions of Drasko Stanivukovic. For me, law is above everything and apply equally to everyone,” said Karic.
