At least 21 bodies have been recovered from the crash site of a plane in the Brazilian state of São Paulo that killed all passengers, the BBC reports.

Teams worked through the night to find disaster victims after a Voepass plane crashed in the city of Vinhedo.

The number of victims was revised to 62.

Voepass previously said the ATR 72-500 was carrying 57 passengers and four crew members between Cascavel in the southern state of Paraná and Guarulhos Airport in the city of São Paulo. But it was later confirmed that there was another missing passenger on the flight.

Footage circulating on social media shows the plane descending vertically and spiraling down. It crashed into a residential area, but no one on the ground was injured.

Officials said only one house in a local apartment complex was damaged.

Capt. Maycon Cristo, a spokesman for the fire department helping to recover the bodies, said so far two people have been identified based on evidence found at the scene.

He said the teams are relying on a number of factors to help identify the passengers. These include documents and the position of the body in relation to sitting, as well as mobile phones found on some of the victims.
