The High Commissioner of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, expressed his dismay and condemned the attack carried out this morning by the Israeli army on a school where displaced Palestinians took refuge in the city of Gaza, in which at least 100 people were killed.
“We are horrified by the images from the school for the displaced in Gaza that was hit by the Israeli attack,” Borrell said in a message on the X social network.
Recalling that at least ten schools had been targeted in Gaza in recent weeks, Borrell said there was no justification for such massacres.
Pointing out that they are horrified by the terrible number of victims in Gaza, Borrell reminded that more than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the war.
“The only way to stop the killing of civilians and secure the release of the hostages is a ceasefire,” Borrell concluded.
The Gaza Strip government’s media office said that early Saturday, the Israeli army fired rockets at the Al-Taba’een school in the Al-Daraj district of eastern Gaza, where the displaced are housed, killing at least 100 Palestinians as they were performing morning prayers. .
