23 Years and Ten Months in Prison for Accused in ‘Volan’ Case

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today issued a verdict in the “Volan” case, sentencing the defendants to a total of 23 years and ten months in prison and a fine of 105,000 KM.

The Court of BiH announced that Marko Trifković, Srećko Trifković, Njegoslav Milinković, Enis Mandal, Zoran Mirjanić, Milorad Mirković and Zoran Čobović were found guilty of the criminal offense of organized crime in connection with the criminal offenses of smuggling, aggravated theft, assault on an official in the performance of security duties, extortion and robbery.

Defendant Marko Trifković was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison and a fine of 20,000 KM, Srećko Trifković was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine of 15,000 KM, and Njegoslav Milinković was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of 10,000 KM.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced the accused Enis Mandal to seven years in prison and a fine of 30,000 KM, to Zoran Mirjanić a prison sentence of two years and eight months and a fine of 20,000 KM, and to Milorad Mirković to a prison sentence of one and six months and a fine of 5,000 KM.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced the accused Zoran Čobović to one year in prison and a 5,000 KM fine.

The time spent in custody is included in the imposed prison sentences.

The defendants were found guilty of voluntarily becoming members of an organized crime group in BiH from 2011 to the end of 2017, which, for the purpose of continuously obtaining material benefit, was organized for the purpose of previously planned and agreed-upon alienation of expensive passenger motor vehicles or those whose demand on the market was increased, extorting money for the return of the vehicles to their owners, and dismantling the alienated vehicles into parts and then selling them.
