26,000 BAM collected for Pomozi.ba during the Match between BiH and Qatar

Bihać-based writer Damir Mašić called on the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina to perform a humanitarian act during the Bosnian national team’s World Cup match against Qatar via social media. Thousands of people responded to his call.

Mašić’s call ahead of the match read as follows:

“I propose that we turn cheering into something bigger than football itself. The rule is simple: The number of goals by which Bosnia and Herzegovina beats Qatar tonight is the same as the number of SMS messages we collectively send to 17007 for Pomozi.ba. If we win 1:0, we send one message (2 BAM), if it’s 3:0 or 3:1, we send three messages (6 BAM). If we don’t win, we send a comforting message because those in need need our victory every day.”

The humanitarian association Pomozi.ba announced earlier today that after Mašić’s proposal, there were 13,000 calls, raising 26,000 BAM. They thanked Mašić and all the other citizens who decided to help.
