roadsThree million BAM will be spent for the reconstruction and construction of regional roads in ZDC this year, which is a million BAM more than last year, said Fahrudin Brkic, Minister of Planning, Transport, Communications, and Environment of ZDC.

Until about 10 years ago, capital investments for roads in ZDC amounted to 20 million BAM on an annual basis. Brkic noted that, although these funds are minimal today, investments are planned in almost all municipalities and the city of Zenica this year.

“For the construction of the bridge on Usora River in Jelah near Tesanj will be spent 500,000 BAM and for the construction of temporary bypass a total of 100,000 BAM, because the bridge should be finished in 2 years. The largest project will be on the section Nemila – Bistricak, where we will invest 650,000 BAM in the project of rehabilitation of landslides and road in the distance of 800 meters. Reconstruction of this complete section will cost 14.5 million BAM,” said Brkic.

Besides these projects, permanent rehabilitation of landslides on the regional road Olovo – Sokolac is planned as well, and a total of 200.000 BAM will be spent on it. This year in Visoko will start construction of the roundabout next to the toll booths, which will cost 370,000 BAM, with the participation of the Municipality Visoko in the amount of 100,000 BAM.

“Moreover, we planned 14 projects of reconstruction of roads. There are also funds from last year for the bridge Mala Maoca on Krivaja River, which is in the final stage, and two landslides in Olovo,” stated Brkic.

Almost 4 million BAM will be invested this year in the environmental projects. Among others, on garbage disposal will be spent 700.000 BAM, as well as 300,000 BAM for the maintenance of cells for quality monitoring. A total of 100.000 BAM will be allocated to associations, NGO’s, the media, educational institutions etc, through public invitation.
