bebe_17In the humanitarian action “Struggle for Babies”, M:tel Company and B92 Fund gathered funds to buy more than 33 of the most modern incubators for maternity hospitals throughout BiH.

As part of the action, five incubators were given in Banja Luka, four in Sarajevo, three in East Sarajevo, two each in Mostar and Tuzla, and one each in Brčko, Trebinje, Prijedor, Doboj, Derventa, Gradiška, Zvornik, Bihać, Travnik, Mrkonjić Grad, Zenicu, and Foča.

In the next period it is expected that one more incubator will be delivered to Bijeljina, Prijedor, Doboj and two in Mostar.

The action was supported by both entities of the Ministry of Health, which identified the maternity hospitals that were the most in need of an incubator.

At the beginning of the action in June 2012, M:tel company donated one incubator each for maternity hospitals in Banja Luka and Sarajevo, and used their example to call on other companies and institutions to do the same.

The Cabinet of the Ministry of the RS, RS government, businessman Milan Popović, companies Dreger, Fruktal, Ibis Instruments, Commercial Bank, Building Directorate of Serbia, BBDO and MDL agencies, and TV Hayat responded to the action. These donors and other businesses and individuals promised funds for one or more incubators.

Since June 2012, M:tel users called the humanitarian number 1411 and enabled the purchase of 12 incubators, and the action was joined by employees of this company that ensured funds for the purchase of incubators in Foča.

According to the Fund B92 programs and the Resource Ministries, maternity wards in BiH needed 70 new incubators at the beginning of the action. The value of one incubator is from 11.000-15.000 euros.
