In the Barracks of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina “Rajlovac”, the 30th generation of new soldiers of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who completed their training in the barracks “Mika Bosnić” in Manjača and “Rajlovac” in Sarajevo, was ceremoniously promoted.

It is a total of 401 young soldiers, making this 30th generation the largest generation that has passed through the Basic Training Center of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With the ceremony held in Čapljina on December 21, 140 soldiers officially entered active military service in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and at this ceremony in Rajlovac, another part of 261 soldiers took a solemn oath, and thus the entire 30 generation officially joined the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The official ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH for Policy and Plans Slaven Galić, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of BiH for Resource Management Major General Gojko Knežević, Parliamentary Military Commissioner Boško Šiljegović, Inspector General of the MoD of BiH Brigadier General Mirsada Ahmić, Deputy Commander of the Operational Command for operations of the Armed Forces of BiH Brigadier Mirzet Lubenović and other representatives of the MoD and Armed Forces of BiH, as well as civil society organizations and relatives and friends of newly recruited soldiers.

“I congratulate the newly recruited soldiers for their self-sacrificing work and engagement during training. You have the obligation to continue with the same enthusiasm in your first duties in the military, to selflessly apply all the acquired knowledge and abilities in the execution of your daily tasks,” Deputy Minister Galić said on that occasion, announcing that the MoD and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to offer employment opportunities even more intensively young and capable citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In his address, General Knežević emphasized that the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina have so far trained around 7,000 young soldiers, with the aim of strengthening overall abilities, capacities and readiness to perform each mission. The Commander of the Center for Basic Training of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Colonel Alem Kaplan, stated that it was challenging to train a generation of soldiers for the first time outside the location of the Center for Basic Training, but that the reason was motivating, namely the implementation of the modern heating system project, which was financed by the Government Federal Republic of Germany. Colonel Kaplan thanked everyone who contributed to the realization of this training.

Vejsil Avdibašić was declared the most successful candidate at the training for a soldier, who was awarded a commendation by the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
