43 Countries registered for Participation in the EYOF 2019 so far

The Organizing Committee of the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF, which will be held in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo in February 2019, presented the already realized projects in the past 12 months and announced their future activities.

Director of the company EYOF 2019, Senahid Godinjak, noted that a total of three visits by the Coordination of Commission of the European Olympic Committee (EOC), infrastructure works on the adaptation of the battleground at Jahorina and Bjelasnica were done, the equipment needed for the realization of the EYOF was procured and promotions at numerous gatherings and fairs in BiH and in the region were held.

They noted that eight test competitions within the “Road to EYOF 2019” were held this winter and the EYOF website was launched as well.

“There are only 324 days left until the beginning of the EYOF, and it remind us that we do not have too much time on our hands. Until now, a total of 43 European countries confirmed their participation in the EYOF,” stated Godinjak.

This year, or in the period before the beginning of the EYOF, some of the most important activities will include the continuation of infrastructure works on Igman, Bjelasnica, Jahorina, Dvorista, Zetra, Skanderija, the auxiliary stadium “Slavija” and hall Peki in Pale.

“The Coordination Commission of EOC will pay another visit in mid-April, and this year is especially emphasized the seminar of the heads of missions, which will take place in the period from November 6 to 9, and it will be attended by representatives of all countries participants, their heads of missions. We will present them the full content of games in four days, including the accommodation, the official opening ceremony, etc,” concluded Godinjak.
