More than sixty investigators are still searching for four suspects who escaped with priceless jewelry after the robbery of the Louvre, French media reported.

Investigators from the specialized BRB unit are searching for the suspects, while possible DNA traces on items left by the robbers could help the investigation progress.

According to media reports, investigators found a motorcycle helmet belonging to one of the suspects, a glove in a crane with a basket, as well as another helmet and keys.

The alleged buyers, according to reports, attacked the owner and fled with the crane without paying. He filed a theft report on October 10th.

On Sunday, the suspects broke into the Gallery of Apollo in the famous Louvre Museum in less than seven minutes. They used a mechanical crane mounted on a vehicle to reach the balcony near the Seine River, where two burglars entered the gallery by cutting the window with electric tools.

“Eight items of priceless cultural value have been stolen,” the French Ministry of Culture stated, adding that on the escape route, the robbers dropped the crown of Empress Eugenie, which was damaged in the process.
