84 Percent more Tourists Arrivals in BiH

In the period January-September 2021, tourists made 714,695 visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is 84 percent more than in the same period in 2020, which was largely marked by a coronavirus pandemic and difficult travel, reports Anadolu Agency (AA ).

According to the data of the State Agency for Statistics, in the same period, tourists realized 1,708,745 overnight stays, which is 72 percent more than in the first nine months of 2020.

The share of domestic tourists in the total number of overnight stays is 47.7 percent, while the share of foreign tourists is 52.3 percent.

In the structure of foreign tourist nights, most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Serbia (16.4 percent), the United Arab Emirates (14 percent), Croatia (8.9 percent), Saudi Arabia (8.4 percent), and Germany (5.4 percent) and Kuwait (4.4 percent), for a total of 57.5 percent. Tourists from other countries accounted for 42.5 percent of overnight stays.

Regarding the length of stay of foreign tourists in BiH, in the first place is Finland with an average stay of 5.3 nights, Iran with 5.1 nights and Kuwait and Malta with four nights each.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the largest number of overnight stays was realized in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.7 percent.
