The 900,000th passenger will arrive at International Airport Sarajevo in December, according to the director Armin Kajmakovic.
The new record breaking is part of a multi-year trend that implies continuous enormous growth in the number of passengers coming and departing from the largest airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Last year, more than 800,000 passengers travelled through International Airport Sarajevo last year.
Soon the airport will be subject to a major reconstruction worth 38 million Euros and the expansion of the runway is also planned. The works will enable the expansion of the capacity of the airport, which will be able to receive up to two million passengers per year.
