The implementation of the amendments to the Law on Excise Duties has been in force since February 1, 2018, and tolls were increased by 0.25 BAM per liter of fuel. A total of 97 million BAM were collected after three months of application of the fuel price increase.

Spokesperson of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, Ratko Kovacevic, stated that the funds will be on a special sub-account until the Board of Directors of the Indirect Taxation Authority adopts the decision on coefficients for allocation of funds to users, i.e. the FBiH, the RS and the Brcko District.

“We expect that the meeting of the Board of Directors of ITA will be scheduled by the end of this month. In that period will be reached an agreement on the session at which will be discussed the allocation of funds from the excise duties,” stated Krsman.

For the sake of illustration, a total of 97 million BAM of excise duties were collected and the project and construction of the motorway Zepce – Tuzla will cost around 60 million BAM. Responsible people claim that these funds will be used for some serious building projects, of course, if the representatives of the FBiH and the RS manage to reach an agrement on that topic.
