A 3.33 Meter high Easter Egg in Kraljeva Sutjeska

Kraljeva Sutjeska recently got a new attraction and a strong holiday symbol. The largest Easter egg in the Balkans, three meters and 33 centimeters high, was discovered and blessed.

The Easter egg was blessed on Holy Saturday, after the blessing of the food, by the guardian of the Franciscan monastery in Kraljeva Sutjeska, Fr. Bono Tomić. This gave this unique project a spiritual dimension, as a message of Easter – hope, renewal and a new beginning.

The egg was conceived and made for days by Andrej Zorić, a local entrepreneur who, as the organizers point out, selflessly gives himself up for his own end, and with this act he once again showed how much a local initiative can make a difference.

The event was organized by the Organizing Committee, which was launched last year on All Saints’ Day, with the clear goal of starting and restoring Kraljeva Sutjeska. That is why the biggest Easter egg is not only a decoration, but also a symbol of new birth – a message that, according to the organizers, best describes what Kraljeva Sutjeska needs today – new momentum, togetherness and concrete steps forward.

Along with Andrej Zorić, the president of the Organizing Committee, Manuela Marinčić, and Perica Rodić, as president of the local community, were especially engaged in the organization of this event, with the help of councilors, fellow residents of Kraljeva Sutjeska and the diaspora.

The organizers say that this is just one in a series of initiatives with which they want to restore visibility, life and optimism to a place with a rich history and great potential.
