A Bosnian walked 700 km for Healing of his Wife and Daughter

On February 25th, Gerard Grgic and Slavko Bosnjak set off on a pilgrimage from Vienna to Medjugorje.

After traveling 700 km in two weeks, on Sunday, March 12th, they arrived at their destination, the church of St. Jakov in Medjugorje. Gerard Grgic is a native of Boce near Brcko. When he was 6 years old, his family moved to Vienna. Slavko Bosnjak was born in Foca near Doboj and escaped to Vienna during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Namely, Slavko is Gerard’s uncle. The pilgrimage lasted two weeks and the route was Gerard’s plan according to the stopping places.

Thus they passed through Austria, Hungary, Croatia and BiH and stopped in the following cities: Vienna, Sopron, Sarvar, Bohenye, Sumeg, Nagyatad, Balaton, Virovitica, Daruvar, Lipik, Gradiska, Banja Luka, Sipovo, Mrkonjic Grad, Kupres, Tomislavgrad , Posusje, Grude, Medjugorje.

The intentions of this pilgrimage were twofold. The first: a prayer to Our Lady for the protection of their children. The second and most important intention was a prayer and sacrifice for the healing of his wife Mina and younger daughter Emily, who both have an unknown and rare muscle disease (bethlem myopathy) that only about a hundred people in the world have and for which there is currently no cure. Recognizing the limits of science and technology, he decided as a husband and father to put himself under God’s protection and with his walking sacrifice to pray to God for a miracle: either healing or the discovery of therapy.

He is also grateful to his family who supported him every day on his journey, as well as to his wife who is very grateful and touched by his sacrifice, Klix.ba reports.
