A former Member of Army of RBiH lives in an Apartment with no minimum Living Conditions

Predrag Kekovic, a former fighter of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RBiH) Army, is finally in the apartment over which he has the right of occupancy according to the final judgments of the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH (FBiH). He welcomed the journalist team with mixed feelings. He points out that he is glad that he is finally in the apartment where he has been since birth, but he feels tired of everything. It was found out that the conditions in which Predrag lives are terrifying.

“My soul also hurts. I hope that I will survive, that I will not fall now from subsequent traumas”, said Predrag.

Predrag states that, as before, the most important thing for him was the support of his neighbors who usually bring him food and necessities.

What the journalist team found in this apartment located in Logavina street in the very center of Sarajevo are catastrophic living conditions. Predrag explained that this is a 120 square meter apartment and that it was destroyed by a shell during the war.

Sulejman Hadzibegovic explained about his meeting with the new owner of the apartment who bought the property from Raiffeisen Bank.

“It is Hamza A. whom I met at the police department in Logavina and in the hallway of the apartment. Although he is a young man, I was surprised by his arrogance, that is, his behavior,” said Hadzibegovic.

He added that the new owner of the apartment can initiate court proceedings, but as Hadzibegovic says, the outcome of the eventual court proceedings is already known.

“He can initiate a property lawsuit for eviction. However, as with previous lawsuits by apartment owners, the outcome will be the same, ie. the position of the court is that the legal conditions for the holders of the right of occupancy, i.e. the members of the family household, to move out have not been met because the legal requirements for such action have not been met. This means that the federal parliament must legally regulate this area,” explained Hadzibegovic, N1 reports.
