A general strike has begun in Serbia today, which was announced by students in the blockade in the previous days. In addition to universities throughout the country and some elementary and secondary schools, many companies, cultural institutions, catering establishments, small businesses, organizations, etc. will also stop working today.

Trade unionists within state-owned enterprises and city administrations have also responded to the strike, as well as some media outlets that will report exclusively on the topic and actions that will be carried out in cities across Serbia.

According to Nova.rs, a protest “Let’s discuss who is a mob and who is a ruffian” is scheduled for today at 2 p.m., organized by the Protest Committee of Lawyers in front of the Serbian Presidency building.

Protest marches and blockades will also be organized in many cities across Serbia.

On the other hand, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he will hold a large rally in Jagodina today at which he will launch an initiative to form a “movement for the state and the people”.

He previously said that the rally in Jagodina is completely free and that he is not forcing anyone to come to it, as the opposition claims.

He added that he initiated the formation of the movement because of everything that is happening in the country.
