A migrant from Pakistan, Saim, traveled 10.000 kilometers on foot to try to find his new life.

Namely, he left Pakistan believing that somewhere there is a place for everyone. The protection and support of vulnerable groups of migrants who remain in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) carried out by Caritas Switzerland lead us to stories that we did not even know were happening in our immediate vicinity.

Migrations are a completely normal phenomenon in any society, the migrations that have taken place in recent years have brought people to our country, mostly men of a younger age, and almost all of them want to reach the European Union (EU) countries through our country. Almost all of them.

Life in Italy

There are also those who want to stay here. Through its projects, Caritas Switzerland in BiH provides constant assistance to those who want to continue their lives here. Every help and support is welcome, everyone needs a friendly hand and each of us needs someone to help someone in a new environment. That’s what this story is about. Meet Saim, a young guy who wanted to go toEurope, and in the end, he succeeded, but only after going through the well-known ”GAME” 15 times, a difficult, illegal, and very uncertain attempt to cross the border. After 15 failures, he finally crosses the border of BiH with Croatia 16 times and arrives in Italy.

It seems that he got everything he wanted, but it’s not like that. Life in Italy was not what he dreamed of, so after everything he went through, he decided to return to BiH. Today Saim lives in Tuzla, he found friends who are now his family, he has a home, he is learning the Bosnian language and waiting for the papers that will allow him to stay here permanently.

He wants to get an education

”I found everything I wanted here. Although many friends tell me what are you going to do in BiH? Half of the people from BiH have left, why do you want to stay there, I tell them that I love this country and that a man is happy where his heart is in the right place. People are good to me, I have friends, I found what I was looking for in Tuzla,” Saim says.

Saim is a special guy, he learns every day and wants to continuehis education. His profile on the Instagram social network called poeticism_official, where he writes poetry, is followed by over 60.000 people. Saim has found a way to combine his creativity and love for art with photography, which he currently does as a hobby, and creates beautiful photos that show the beauty of life.

He is in contact with his family, life in Pakistan is difficult, especially for women and Saim wants one day to do everything he can to make life easier for the people who stayed in his native country.

Saim, Osama, Muhammad… there are many who seek their happiness and who deserve better than what they ran away from. It is important to give everyone the opportunity to show their best side, to extend a hand to them, and not close your eyes to them because they too are only human and want a life worthy of a human being, Avaz reports.
