A new Judge was appointed to the Constitutional Court of the Federation of BiH

On Thursday, January 26, the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara, issued a Decision on the appointment of a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and submitted it to the vice-presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for approval.

Boris Barun from the Croat people was appointed as a judge, in accordance with the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Opinion of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Office of the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced on Monday.

Based on the Constitution of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara, appoints judges of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the consent of the Vice-President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina within 30 days from the day when the High and Judicial Prosecutor’s Council submitted the proposal of candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the Vice-Presidents of the Federation of BiH give their consent, the President of the Federation of BiH sends the Decision to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH for confirmation.

“The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council carried out the selection procedure and all checks for candidates, and on December 30, 2022, submitted to the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Marinko Čavara, a proposal for candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, a list of candidates who meet the requirements and have no obstacles for appointment as a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”, it is stated in the press release.
