The Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor filed a request for the temporary removal of the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced a day after Debevac was taken into custody by officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
The HJPC, on the occasion of the arrest of the President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ranko Debevac, in the premises of the State Agency for Investigation and Protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIPA), announced that this morning the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent the HJPC of Bosnia and Herzegovina a notification on the adoption of the Order on the investigation against the suspect Ranko Debevac, President of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– Upon receipt of the aforementioned notification, in accordance with the competences prescribed by the Law on the HJPC of BiH, the Notification was forwarded to the Disciplinary Prosecutor’s Office (UDT) of the HJPC of BiH, which submitted a request for the temporary removal of the President of the Court of BiH, Ranko Debevac. After submitting the request, the automatic DK CMS system will determine the first-instance disciplinary commission of the HJPC of BiH, which will make a decision on the request of the UDT within the legal term – it was stated in the announcement.
Based on the decision of the first instance disciplinary commission, the HJPC of BiH will act in accordance with the provisions prescribed by the Law on the HJPC of BiH.
In the event that the decision of the first-instance disciplinary commission is to remove the president of the court, the HJPC of BiH will decide on the appointment of the acting president of the Court of BiH, it was also stated in the announcement.
